The Cotswolds

Blockley

Blockley, a few miles to the north west of Moreton-in-Marsh tucked away in the countryside, has many interesting buildings and a long history. The Knee Brook runs through Blockley and in the past, was used to run wool and silk mills. Much wealth was subsequently generated by the wool trade and many magnificent buildings were erected by the wealthy mill owners. The church in the village centre was originally built in the 12th century and was added to by the mill owners over the years. Blockley would be a lovely place to stay and use as a base for touring around the Cotswolds.
