The Cotswolds

Bourton-on-the-Water

Bourton-on-the-Water with the River Windrush running through the centre, is one of the more popular destinations in the Cotswolds especially in the summer months and athough very busy at times, the atmosphere is really quite extraordinary with the many visiting nationalities lending a 'cosmopolitan feel' to the village. Many attractions are to be found in Bourton, including - Birdland, a seven acre park, with penquins, storks and many other kinds of tropical birds. The excellent and educating Cotswold Perfumery, The Model Village, The Dragonfly Maze and The Motor Museum are also worth a visit if you have children along for the day out.

For the romantic amongst us, perhaps an early evening stroll along the river, followed by a candlelit dinner would make the ideal end to a perfect day!
